Jean Morgan-Roberts - Personal Summary

Jean was born in one of the oldest dwellings in Conwy, 11 Castle Street.  The house built in 1589 was originally named 'Vicardy' and was the home of John Bricknall, the Vicar of Conwy his wife and family, Sometime later it changed usage from a private dwelling to a Public House and was renamed 'The Black Lion' Around 1935 it lost its public license, which led to her father, William, purchasing the property in 1937. Today this wonderful Elizabethan house is thought to pre-date 1441.

A self taught painter, she was encouraged by her father to enjoy the countryside and nature. As a child, spent endless hours playing alongside the quay and river, she quickly learnt how to identify the different species of birds.  By the age of 11, she began to paint these beautiful iridescent creatures.

Tri-lingual speaker and seasoned traveller, it is easy to see how her work has been influenced by her many long haul treks to bright, colourful and far flung places, her favourite - South America.

Her cheerful, colourful outlook and style, make her a firm favourite amongst her many collectors. She continues to furbish Galleries, Hotels and private collections from Conwy, London, Canada, New York, CA, Japan, Australia to name but a few.
