Barmouth Jail

Long since gone, Barmouth jail. It must have been very bleak to be incarcerated in that cold stone building.

Barmouth Jail winter

Beddgelert

Gelerts grave is close by - the faithful and loyal dog, who in his efforts to save the sleeping baby from the wolf's advances, was slain by his master, a tragic error.

Beddgelert and the bridge

Blaen Nant Cottage

At the top end of Crafnant lake, I often pass and think what a lovely place this would be to stay for a few days and just absorb the scenery.

Row of Terraces

A typical welsh scene, row upon row of tiny miners cottages. How did they manage to raise such large families in such confinement?

It is always a delight to wander around this folly, the vibrant yet earthy colours intrigue me, each contrasting yet complimenting each other.

Llyn Crafnant

Where better to walk than around the beautiful Crafnant Lake, Trefriw. With it's stillness and bird song. The unusual shapes of the hills and mountains get me here.

Original Watercolour

Barmouth

On the beach, the rusting fishing boat with all it's nets provided me with the inspiration for this painting , inspite of the stunning Mawddach estuary and Cadair Idris in the background, earning a decent living can be hard.

Original Watercolour

£300
